Malcolm-X V.S. Franklin

I think that is cool that Malcolm X taught himself to read, pretty much, and that he had such great determination to do it. I feel really privileged to be able to know English at such a young age. It’s amazing I never realized how much people take it for granted. Both Franklin and Malcolm take pride in learning that was a cool think that they both had in common.

I wonder why Malcolm never said why he was in prison.

In comparing Malcolm X’s story to Franklins Essay, Franklins sounded more educated. I had a hard time understanding him at times.

I always enjoy humor in writing so I preferred Malcolm’s document more. Some of the things Franklin wrote, you could really tell they were in a different time period, I thought that was really cool.

One of the similarities between the two, they both enjoyed reading so much that they would stay up late in the night reading.

Once I started to get the hang of how Franklin spoke his writing became easier to read. On the other hand Malcolm’ s paper was very easy to read. I only had to read things twice a few times.
