What I can take from Malcolm-X’s writing and apply it into my own, is that you can use “big” words or intelligent words and your reader doesn't always have to be confused. What I mean is he used some words I didn't know but I could still understand his story.
I like all the examples Malcolm is giving. He has one real topic but it’s cool that reading is a broad enough topic to go more in-depth about. It all ties into one, but he really has separate ideas, I’m going to do the same thing in my essay. I have one main topic. But I will have lots of little side stories and support that will go into my main topic.
As I started reading Franklin's essay more in depth I found that he had more humor then I realized. I don’t know if it was purposeful or that was just how they spoke back then. Either way, I enjoyed it! Like I have said before, I will use humor and my personality in my writing to the best of my ability, because when you add your personality. As I have seen from all the articles I have read it really makes them a whole lot more interesting to read.
