Rose questions

1.       Rose’s life was harsh. His school life that is, when he was going to that Vocational School.  Most of the teachers didn’t seem to can if the students gained information from the class or not. They really didn’t care if they were hurting the kids and anything.  The teachers didn’t seem to care about the kids. The teachers would even bully the kids, by calling them rude names and stuff. They would also give them swats on the butt. Most of the teachers didn’t seem educated themselves.

2.       The kids at this school were affected emotionally because they didn’t seem to have much self-worth. They felt bad for themselves. Which makes sense they had no support system and their surroundings were awful. Socially they had to form to what people thought they were and they felt inadequate. It was hard for Rose to catch up in math because he never really listened to the teacher. He often day dreamed and half-heartedly went through life.

3.       There really isn’t that much that I find disorienting in college. I mean compared to high school there is a world of difference. There is so much less drama and “fake” people here. Mostly people in college are themselves. They act themselves and are polite to each other.  I think to lessen disorientation students can try to be themselves to the best of their ability. And try not to form into what people want them to be unless it’s what they want also.

4.       I know that throughout my educational experience, I have seen and met lots of people how don’t show their true personality and don’t even know who they truly are as a person. So I understand what Rose is talking about. There are people who lay low and stand  out. The jocks, nerds ect. We all know them. So I agree in that aspect but, I still encourage people to be themselves.
