Feross

Aly Jensen
I find it very convenient and interesting how Feross explains straight out what he is going to talk to you about. Often times in papers, unless it is an instruction guide, they don’t tell you want their main point is. Most of the time they will get you hooked then inform you later about the true topic. I liked that he was very direct in his information. When I write my first paper I need to make sure that I am very direct and clear with my story.
I also liked Feross quote, “it doesn’t matter what you program as long as you just start.” I also feel that it is equally important to write about the things that are important to you, something you are passionate about is doing. Many people these days, at least it seems, don’t do what they necessarily love or want. They kinda “go with the flow.” Or just do what they have to just to get a pay check or whatever the reason might be.
I enjoyed the fact that both of them had humor in their writing. I found it interesting that they both had different humor but, both were equally funny. It will be fun to add humor in my 1st paper, to make sure I really add my personality into it.
I noticed that Joshua used a lot of examples which helped me to understand him better. I shall do the same in my paper!

  1. We will agree to disagree on the papers. I do have to admit Feross' work is very organized and visually interesting. I found the paper to be a little more geared towards a different audience than myself.

  2. I like the use of Feross's heading that makes you know what the subject is from the very begining. I think it's great to use humor in narratives to help the flow.
